What size should an og:image be?
1200×630 pixels, at a 1.91:1 ratio. Keep it under about 5 MB and use an absolute https URL — relative paths are ignored by every major crawler.
Why is my preview showing the old image?
Platforms cache aggressively. Use Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector to force a re-scrape after changing og:image.
Do I need Twitter Card tags if I have Open Graph?
Not strictly — X falls back to og: tags when twitter: ones are absent. Adding twitter:card explicitly is still worth it, since it is what selects the large-image layout.
