Frequently asked questions

What keyword density should I aim for?

None. There is no ratio Google rewards, and writing to hit one produces worse copy. Treat this as a diagnostic: it shows you repetition you did not intend, and confirms the page is about what you think it is about.

What counts as keyword stuffing?

There is no published threshold. This tool flags single words above 4% because that is where repetition usually stops reading naturally — but a term appearing often in genuinely relevant copy is not a penalty risk.

Why are common words excluded by default?

Because 'the' tops the frequency table of almost every English page, which tells you nothing. Turn the filter off if you want the raw counts.

Why do phrase counts look low?

Phrases are not built across sentence boundaries, and a phrase that begins or ends on a function word is dropped. Both keep the table meaningful rather than full of fragments.
